This presentation will cover a few topics relevant to Retirement / Estate Planning and Debt Management:

Did you know that the most likely demographic to seek legal insolvency options is the "Grandpa Debtor”?  Be aware of potential warning signals that your clients are headed for insolvency.

Business insolvency filings have already increased due to the pandemic, however consumer insolvency filings are actually lower than in prior years.  The increase of consumers struggling with personal debt is inevitable – how do we find these people the help they need?

What happens to personal debt when someone dies?  A legal insolvency filing (such as a Bankruptcy or a Consumer Proposal) may be an effective planning tool for the elderly, particularly when considering that RRSPs/RRIFs are considered exempt property under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
