A proper estate plan addresses not only the correct structure, but governance and succession issues. This seminar will provide an overview of the navigation of challenges related to family governance, succession planning and business continuity, next generation education and transitions, private wealth management and family offices.

Presenters:
Geoff Saab
CPA, CA, CFA, CFP, TEP, Ottawa Doherty & Associates
Geoff joined Doherty in 2015, bringing 18 years’ experience advising individuals, families, and private foundations on matters relating to investment, tax, and estate planning. Most recently before joining Doherty, he spent over 10 years working exclusively within a multi-generational single family office. He is also the author of the book Low Risk Rules: A Wealth Preservation Manifesto.
Sandra Pollack, TEP, CFP, CLU, FEA, ChFC, MFA-P (Ottawa) is the Founder of Trimaran Advisory Group Ltd. and the author of Don’t Leave a Mess! How to Disaster-Proof Your Family Legacy.
Originally from Montreal and a graduate of McGill University, Sandra grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. That experience shaped her understanding of the opportunities—and complexities—created when business, wealth, and family relationships overlap.
Sandra believes building wealth and managing wealth are not the same—and that successful planning does not only involve having the answers, but asking deeper questions that spark thinking and conversation beyond financial capital. Her work helps business owners and enterprising families create intentional and sustainable estate plans, strengthened through communication and family governance, so wealth transitions—and business continuity—can be achieved with clarity and confidence across generations.
